The current drought will not be discussed.

This is a long-range plan for keeping our groundwater sustainable and reduce land subsidence over the next 20+ years. Land owners, ranchers and growers need to be involved in choosing, implementing and funding projects. Please join us to learn more.

Date: Thursday, June 9th, 2022

Time: 11:30 AM to 1:00PM (sandwiches will be served)

Place: Yolo County Farm Bureau

           69 W. Kentucky Ave, Woodland

Please RSVP so we know how many people are interested and have enough seating. It's possible the meeting could be moved to the Yolo County Fairgrounds if we get a large response.

Yolo County Farm Bureau partnered with the Yolo County Water Resources Association to create a plan. The plan was submitted to the Regional Water Quality Control Board in January 2022. Failure to do so would have resulted in the State Water Board taking control of and implementing their own plan for Groundwater Sustainability.

Farm Bureau members are invited to learn more about GSP and the long-range planning needed to comply with GSP. The County has been divided into six Management Areas to allow a local say in which plans to adopt. Areas have already been identified that have low (or no) naturally recurring groundwater recharge and/or have subsidence issues. All areas will need to review, implement and adopt programs to comply with SGMA.
